Pamela Wesolek

Always inspired by nature and by plants, Pamela has embraced the tradition of botanical illustration and also elaborated on it. Etching his her medium of choice because it accommodates the intricate detail, fine lines, and precision that she seeks in her compositions.

Her latest series of elaborate etchings are more abstracted, guided by the shape of a circle. Like magnifying glasses they take acute documentation of things small (or maybe large), and with such names as "cellular warfare" and "carpet politics." As with all of her work, the physical and emotional aspects of her subjects are the focus, referencing the phases of life and the seasons. She often layers images to be viewed simultaneously to tell a complete story.

She currently lives and works in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
